18 Months Old
So I guess this message is a little delayed, but happy 1.5 birthday Shire! You've really grown up so much in the past month. The walking thing is really quite impressive--she went from absolutely nothing at the end of November to being such a confident, strong walker. She's also had a huge vocabulary growth (though most of her words sound exactly the same to everyone but her parents). Here's what she's saying these days:
- thank you
- all done
- ta-da (does this count as a word?)
And there are more things that she'll say "with prompting" (meaning she'll just say the word if you'll say it to her first). Oh, and she has more teeth--definitely two molars up on top and two starting on the bottom. And she's doing very well with using the potty. Mom and dad really appreciate not having to handle as many soiled diapers as we used to. After break, I'm going to ask daycare to start putting her on the potty throughout the day, so hopefully that will keep things moving in the right direction. Sleeping through the night and going down just fine, though sometimes she wakes up an hour early and refuses to go back to sleep until she's gotten a little "snack" to eat (usually toast, but cheese and oatmeal are also frequent requests).
Anyways, here's a little virtual present for you, baby girl. Your very own chocobo. Take good care of it!
